CULTure
2015-2016
Certainly technology has added to our societies many positives over the years in a multitude of sectors, such as medicine, communication and education, to name a few. However, this series, along with CIVILIZATION, seeks to highlight the pervasive negatives as a result of carelessness in development and disposal, as well as how we choose to use emerging technologies in our modern era.
Sculptures are composed of eviscerated televisions, computers, monitors, cell phones, and various other technological pieces, all collected from trash heaps, disposal areas, or donated. The discarded technology is then disassembled and re-composed in the studio.
